Welcome from the Headteacher

Chipstead Valley became an Academy in April 2014 (PACE Academy Trust, formerly Chipstead Valley Academy Trust) and is now a three-forms of entry primary school in Years Reception to Year 5; Year 6 currently has two forms but will increase next year. We currently have 609 children on roll Reception-Year 6.

In 2017 we also opened a new nursery provision with space for 2 and 3 year olds.

These include a swimming pool, mini-gym, cycle track, all purpose running track, outdoor classroom, woodland, conservation and orchard areas and an award winning, extensive growing area, which is cultivated by staff and children.

In September 2013 we opened an ‘Enhanced Learning’ provision with the capacity to admit 14 children with physical disabilities. This is a joint venture with Woodcote High School.

We are proud of our many achievements; academic standards are high and all pupils are encouraged to strive for their best, through carefully planned learning opportunities, provided by an excellent team of staff. We also ensure that children have a rich and broad curriculum with sport, music, art and drama featuring prominently. We have a thriving breakfast and after school club. We also offer a range of extra-curricular clubs throughout the age groups. These do vary from time to time but often include football, netball, tennis, athletics, street dance, ballet, French, chess, computing and swimming.

In 2014 Chipstead Valley became a Teaching School. We are very proud to have achieved this status as we are one of only a limited number of schools across the country. Teaching Schools are outstanding schools who lead others to provide high quality training and development to prospective, new and experienced school staff.

dsc_7372-150x150dsc_7241-150x150We strongly believe in developing close links between home and school and know, from experience, that children’s learning clearly benefits from effective partnership. We are also a listening school, and actively encourage parents and children to come and see us if they have any concerns.

We have a hugely successful PTFA who work tirelessly each year to raise valuable funds for projects throughout the school. Please consider joining them if your child starts at Chipstead Valley; you won’t regret it!

In March 2013 the school experienced a very successful OFSTED inspection and was judged to be ‘Outstanding’ in all areas. The inspector had the following comments to make:

“Pupils respond enthusiastically to the school’s challenge to ‘Be the best you can be’. Their overwhelmingly positive approach to school helps them to make excellent progress.”

“Pupils’ spiritual, more, social and cultural development is outstanding because they are given so many opportunities to use their personal skills. The quality of work in art and music is outstanding and pupils also achieve very well in physical education and sport.”

As a school we are constantly striving for excellence and with representatives from across the school and wider community, we have recently renewed our Vision for the future. Under the title Vision 2020 we have set out our goals and aspirations through the four key pillars of Standards and Achievement, Care, Provision and Partnership and Community.

If you would like to come and view our school, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We would be more than happy to show you around.
