Eco Committee
Our Eco Committee at Chipstead Valley comprises 8 students spanning various age groups. It includes one representative each from Year 1, 2, 3, and 4, along with two students from both Year 5 and Year 6. The response to this year's committee selection process was overwhelming, with 150 children expressing their interest. Applications were thoroughly reviewed, paying particular attention to the sections where children shared their ideas on addressing environmental concerns within our school.
The children who were appointed were awarded with an Eco Schools certificate and an Eco Committee badge. Throughout the academic year, there will be multiple opportunities for the entire school to engage in various initiatives. The committee will change annually, allowing as many students as possible to contribute their ideas.
Collaborating closely with Mr Chapman, Mrs Rogers and Mr Carney, the committee gather information about the school's eco footprint and identify existing environmentally friendly practices. We are excited and are committed to fostering a school culture dedicated to sustainability.
